Curriculum

  • How is learning different at DPS Gurugram Sector 67A?
  • We have integrated the CBSE curriculum with our 'Whole Child' learning approach. We aim to build an inclusive learning foundation that stands our learning pillars — cognitive, kinesthetic and affective learning skills. These are, in turn, built up of 9 core learning blocks. These learning blocks are led by area experts and scholars to ensure that your child becomes the best version of themselves.
  • What is the DPS Gurugram Sector 67A approach to education?
  • DPS Gurugram has adopted the 'Whole Child' approach to learning that strives to build creative, confident and compassionate leaders of tomorrow. This framework was formulated by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), a unique organisation dedicated to working with multiple stakeholders to impart holistic education. At DPS Gurugram, we bring the Whole Child approach to life by building an inclusive learning foundation that stands our learning pillars — cognitive, kinesthetic and affective learning skills. These are, in turn, built up of 9 core learning blocks. These ensure that our learning culture goes well beyond the mere pursuit of academic excellence by creating an environment that fosters the joy of learning, inculcates values, imparts experiential learning and prioritises personal growth.
  • What kind of international platforms will you provide to help nurture students with a global outlook?
  • We believe that our students are the global citizens of tomorrow, proud of their roots but at home anywhere in the world. Hence, we aim to help our student-teacher community learn from leading international institutions and expert educationists by organising adventure camps, student exchange programmes, summer schools and teacher conferences. This inspiring global journey will be guided by our Learning Leader Gunjan Aggarwal, co-founder of Learn with Leaders, an organisation dedicated to breaking barriers to quality education and democratising ‘Ivy League education’ for high school students across the globe.
  • My child is a bit of an introvert. How can the school help my child overcome this?
  • There is a difference between a shy and an introvert child. A shy child must not be pushed and forced against their wishes. They should be given more exposure to social events like birthday parties or playing in groups and gently urged to participate. We try to patiently cajole them into participating in various school events and building their confidence while allowing them to maintain their individuality.
  • What are the extra-curricular activities available at the school?
  • We believe in nurturing the Whole Child, and therefore, we follow an integrated approach to learning that does not view extra-curricular activities as a separate module. Our nine learning blocks are built into learning spaces as our campus provides a range of activities for students to explore and stimulate curiosity. For instance, our premium sports facilities include two temperature controlled swimming pools, yoga centres, football turf, squash court, badminton court, basketball court, tennis court, mini golf course, shooting range, multi-purpose hall, among many others.
  • Which board is DPS Gurugram Sector 67A affiliated with?
  • We will be recognised and affiliated with the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) for running classes from Pre-Nursery to Grade 12.
  • How is the curriculum framed? What are its founding pillars?
  • At DPS Gurugram, we bring the Whole Child approach to life by building an inclusive learning foundation, learning pillars and key learning blocks.
  • What opportunities will be provided for the enrichment of faculty?
  • We will regularly organise teacher training programmes, workshops, seminars, and conferences as we believe that our teachers should never stop learning.

  • Will you have medical facilities on campus?
  • Yes, we will have a state-of-the-art infirmary run by trained medical staff. Nurses will be available during school hours and stay-backs or after-school activities. We will have an ambulance on standby, equipped with appropriate facilities to provide emergency medical support. The school is also following all COVID-19 guidelines prescribed by the Government.
  • What happens if a child gets injured in school?
  • The school infirmary will provide first-aid. If required, the child will be taken to a nearby hospital after due communication with the parents.
  • What do I do if my child is under medication?

  • The school has a number of resources to address the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual wellness of its students.

  • We strongly value and encourage conversations around sexual health, hygiene and safety for all our students. Our counsellors take the lead in introducing and engaging students with meanings, manifestations and safety measures around sexuality and sexual health across middle and high school classrooms.
  • How will you ensure nutritious meals for children?
  • Healthy, nutritious and delicious food is crucial for a child’s development. Our caterers come from a reputed group that provides meals to several corporate houses, offices and schools across the country.
  • What are the security measures on campus?
  • Our gated campus has a highly qualified security team guarding our learning and play centres. We have biometric systems in place, and regular security checks are conducted to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.
  • What are the various COVID-19 measures taken for the safety of my child?

Besides, telephonic conversations, scheduled parent-teacher meetings and individual meetings with the teachers are regular practices to ensure effective communication.
  • How frequently will Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM) be held?
  • Parent-teacher meetings will be organised once every two months. Additionally, there will be annual mega-events to engage with parents.
  • How can I volunteer for school activities?
  • Parents play a huge role in their children’s education. They may get involved in their children’s day-to-day school life by volunteering in class, serving on Parent Committees and School Boards. We will announce parental volunteering opportunities every month through our newsletter.
  • How will I know what’s happening in my child’s classroom and the school?
  • We believe that parents are an essential partner in their child’s education. We have an integrated portal for parents to ensure efficient and effective communication. Scheduled communication between teachers and parents includes:

Apart from these scheduled meetings, teachers will meet parents whenever a need arises. We are committed to open communication and are always there to listen and collaborate with the parents.
